DOUG WARDLOW IN PUBLIC:

“I’m not going to use the office for political purposes or to push a political agenda.”

DOUG WARDLOW IN PRIVATE:

“We’re going to fire 42 Democratic attorneys right off the bat and get Republican attorneys in there.”

“We are actually going to support the President’s agenda.”

"I am absolutely 100% pro-life, and that will be a priority in the Attorney General's Office."

“If we can win the Attorney General’s Office, which I can do, then we can change the political complexion of the state.”

BREAKING: Former GOP-appointed Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Paul Anderson speaking out on the judicial ethics standards Doug Wardlow violated by keeping a secret far-right blog while clerking for the Minnesota Supreme Court.

"I found the conduct of Mr. Wardlow so egregious, so undermining of the ethics and the standards that we had on the Court, I thought he should have been terminated immediately.”

Doug Wardlow wants to politicize the Attorney General’s office to serve President Trump, to revoke the health care of millions, put corporations ahead of families, criminalize a woman’s right to choose, and discriminate against women and our LGBTQ neighbors.

STOP DOUG WARDLOW. MAKE A PLAN TO VOTE BY TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH.

A LIFETIME OF PROFESSIONAL DISCRIMINATION

Doug Wardlow has a lifelong record of professional discrimination against LGBTQ Minnesotans as counsel for the Alliance Defending Freedom, deemed a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, where he worked to deny people service based on who they are. Wardlow’s group also fought to defend harassment at women’s health clinics. In the state legislature, Wardlow voted to allow health care companies to discriminate against women, and to repeal the Minnesota Equal Pay Act.

Wardlow has pledged to politicize the Attorney General's office to serve President Trump, and has promised a partisan purge of the office by firing lawyers and replacing them with Republican partisans who will carry out his dangerous agenda.

DANGEROUS ON HEALTH CARE

During his one term in the Minnesota House of Representatives, Wardlow pushed legislation and advanced lawsuits to block and repeal the Affordable Care Act for Minnesotans, which has helped more than 380,000 Minnesotans gain health coverage, including many seniors and farmers. Wardlow also advanced legislation in the Minnesota House to allow corporate special interests to discriminate against Minnesota women and deny them health care coverage. On the campaign trail, Wardlow said that attacking a women's right to choose would be "top priority in the Attorney General's office." Minnesotans can’t afford an AG who will use the office to achieve Trump’s health care cuts.

BAD FOR WORKERS

During his time in the Minnesota House, Wardlow was also a champion and author of so-called ‘right to work’ laws which undermine workers’ rights, lowering wages, benefits, and working conditions for everyone. As Attorney General, Wardlow has made it clear he would side with corporate special interests over Minnesota workers and consumers, from companies who pollute our water to opioid manufacturers who have profited off addiction.

A DISASTER ON CIVIL RIGHTS

After Eagan residents rejected Doug’s anti-family views and voted him out of office, Doug found a new home for his far-right legal activism at the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), an anti-LGBTQ hate group. Doug proudly supports the organization’s work to recriminalize homosexuality, oppose hate crime laws, and sterilize transgender individuals. Wardlow himself has gone so far as to say that the Supreme Court recognizing marriage equality was a “totalitarian impulse… not many steps from tyranny.”

Wardlow is extremely hostile to voting rights and has openly claimed he will use his power as Attorney General to help Republicans win elections. In 2012, he claimed “you're not born with the innate right to vote” while defending the restrictive Voter ID constitutional amendment Minnesota voters rejected soundly in 2012. In 2017, Wardlow claimed that, if elected as Attorney General, he would “change the political complexion of the state long term" to favor Minnesota Republicans by aggressively prosecuting "illegal voting." In August of 2018, Wardlow doubled-down on and claimed that, as Attorney General, he’ll use the office to help make a "Minnesota that’s more red."
