BREAKING: Leaked Document Confirms Wardlow’s Radical Agenda for Attorney General’s Office

Doug Wardlow says he wants to ‘de-politicize’ the Attorney General’s Office, but a newly-revealed document confirms his radical plans for the office

Wardlow would use the Office to enforce President Trump’s agenda through the courts, and to advance fringe views to limit free and open elections and a woman’s right to choose

MINNESOTA -- A new document leaked from a Doug Wardlow for Attorney General fundraising event earlier this week confirms what Wardlow’s record of extreme politics has long shown: that Wardlow will use the Attorney General’s Office to serve President Trump and limit the rights of Minnesotans, from voter suppression to overturning a woman’s right to choose.

“Doug Wardlow will institute these duties when he is your MN Attorney General,” the flyer reads, before going on to list Wardlow’s radical plans for the office, including: “Defend President Trump’s agenda in court;” “Investigate and prosecute illegal voting;” and “Prosecute illegal trafficking of fetal body parts.”

Wardlow has repeatedly made clear that he intends to use the Attorney General’s Office to serve President Trump. He supports efforts to remove coverage from preexisting conditions and overturn the ACA, and would use the Office to enforce President Trump’s cruel immigration policies.

Wardlow has also made clear that he would use the Office to replicate President Trump’s discredited ‘voter fraud’ commission, suggesting the Attorney General’s Office is the way to “change the political complexion of the state long term" to favor Minnesota Republicans by aggressively prosecuting "illegal voting." In August of 2018, Wardlow doubled-down on and claimed that, as Attorney General, he’ll use the office to help make a "Minnesota that’s more red."

Wardlow has also made his anti-choice positions clearly known. This document confirms his belief in a discredited, far-right conspiracy theory which has inflamed violence. As Rewire News reports, this rhetoric “comes from the anti-choice front group called the Center for Medical Progress and its discredited anti-abortion propaganda videos, which falsely alleged Planned Parenthood profited from legal donations of fetal tissue.” Beyond even this far-out belief, Wardlow has made clear his anti-choice intentions for the office: “I am absolutely 100 percent pro-life, and that will be a priority in the Attorney General's office.”

These extreme views and radical plans should come as no surprise to Minnesotans who have been paying attention to what Doug Wardlow says, and what he says he wants to do in Office. Wardlow is too extreme for Minnesota. Minnesotans can’t afford someone who will politicize the Attorney General’s Office to serve President Trump and take away health care from millions.

We need a champion for affordable health care, the rights of working families, and greater opportunity for all.
